In cooling mode, it extracts heat from the indoor air and releases it outside through a refrigerant circuit. In heating mode, the cycle reverses and the system operates as an air-to-air heat pump. It treats the room air but does not bring in fresh air.

A single-split serves one zone with one indoor and one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit. A ducted system distributes air through ducts from a concealed unit. VRF or VRV serves multiple zones in large residential or commercial projects.

Ecoclima’s 2026 guide ranges are €2,500 to €4,200 for one room, €4,500 to €7,000 for two rooms and €6,800 to €12,000 for three to four rooms. They include quality equipment, a standard installation and normal VAT. The final price depends on line routes, condensate drainage, access and electrical work.

Consumption depends on the heat load, setpoint, insulation, weather, operating hours and seasonal efficiency. Correct sizing, effective solar shading and a reasonable setpoint reduce consumption. Ecoclima does not provide universal euro estimates without usage data.

Yes. It can efficiently heat one or more zones, particularly in milder weather. Before treating it as the main heating system, Ecoclima checks insulation, heat distribution between rooms, available capacity in cold weather and whether another system is required. It does not produce domestic hot water.

Not in a conventional split installation. The indoor unit recirculates and treats air already present in the room. Depending on the model, filters may capture certain particles, but they do not replace airing or a ventilation system that supplies fresh air.

Yes. Water condenses on the heat exchanger when the system cools humid air, and it must be drained correctly. The effect depends on operation, sizing and indoor conditions; air conditioning is not always a substitute for a dedicated dehumidifier.

Choosing the model is not enough. Ecoclima compares outdoor sound power and stated indoor sound pressure, then considers distance, reflective surfaces, vibration, the support, bedrooms and neighbouring properties. Night mode cannot correct poor positioning.

It depends on the municipality, building and location. An outdoor unit or visible wall penetration may affect the façade and be subject to municipal rules. In a co-owned building, approval may be required before altering a common area. Ecoclima identifies the issue during the assessment, but confirmation remains with the municipality, building manager or competent authority.

Standard reversible air-to-air conditioning is not included in the national list of heat pumps eligible for Klimabonus 2026. Any municipal grant must be checked separately. Ecoclima does not deduct a grant from the quotation until its applicability has been confirmed.

No, not under the “TVA Logement” tax scheme. The official Guichet.lu page explicitly lists air conditioning among work excluded from the super-reduced rate. Ecoclima’s 2026 estimates therefore use the normal 17% rate.

No. R32 is not banned in 2026. For air-to-air split systems up to 12 kW, EU rules prohibit placing new equipment using fluorinated gases with a GWP of 150 or more on the market from 1 January 2029, except where required to meet safety requirements. This timetable does not require an existing installation to be removed in 2029.

Filters should be checked and cleaned according to use and the manufacturer’s instructions. Professional maintenance frequency depends on the model, intensity of use, environment and refrigerant charge; there is no identical annual obligation for every small residential split. Ecoclima services and troubleshoots the systems it has installed.

A straightforward single-split can generally be installed in one day, while a multi-split, ducted system or commercial project takes longer. The schedule depends on line lengths, wall penetrations, electrical work, condensate drainage, finishes, access and approvals.

Yes. Cooling demand often partly coincides with daytime solar generation. This does not make air conditioning free: weather, setpoint, shading, occupancy and photovoltaic capacity remain decisive. Ecoclima can coordinate both systems without overstating self-consumption.
