Installation of 60 solar panels in Mamer, Luxembourg
Before the photovoltaic system could be installed, our technicians removed the home’s non-functional solar thermal collectors to recover usable roof space. The 60 Hyundai HJT panels were then distributed across three roof orientations and connected to a Sungrow SH25T hybrid inverter with three MPPT inputs, together with a 20 kWh Sungrow SBH battery.
The starting point
The old solar thermal collectors had to be removed before the photovoltaic installation could begin.
The existing collectors were no longer functional and occupied roof space needed for the new photovoltaic array. For this project in Mamer, the first part of our work was therefore a carefully planned removal rather than an immediate panel installation.
Turning an existing roof into usable photovoltaic space
At Ecoclima, we first reviewed the existing rooftop equipment and the areas that could be recovered. Our technicians then removed the non-functional solar thermal collectors so that the 60-panel photovoltaic layout could be designed around the available roof surfaces.

Electrical design
Three roof orientations managed through the three MPPT inputs of the Sungrow SH25T.
Because the photovoltaic modules are distributed across three orientations, the electrical design had to reflect the different roof surfaces. The SH25T’s three MPPT inputs allow the three groups to be managed separately within the same hybrid inverter.
The inverter was selected around the roof, not the other way round
Each roof has its own geometry. Here, using an inverter with three MPPT inputs made it possible to address the three orientations without presenting them as one uniform surface.
The hybrid configuration also connects the photovoltaic production and the 20 kWh Sungrow SBH battery within one system.
